These are the 5 most dangerous roads to drive in México

The roads in Mexico are complex, either due to climatic factors or the large flow of vehicles, which makes them challenging.

This was stated in an infographic from the company Sodexo, specialized in food services and facility management.

The rate of road incidents is just over 50 per day, according to data from the National Council for Accident Prevention.
The firm's mobility experts shared information about the most challenging roads in the country.

These are the most dangerous roads in the country:

  1. Mexico-Puebla Highway: It has a length of 130 kilometers, with sharp curves and occasional snowfalls that freeze the asphalt.
  2. Tepic-Mazatlán Highway: this highway, known as El Espinazo del Diablo, is one of the most difficult in the national territory. Its lack of maintenance and high temperatures make it a great challenge for inexperienced drivers.
  3. Mexico-Toluca Highway: the fog that accumulates in the La Marquesa area, the hail and excessive traffic, in addition to the constant curves, make this highway one of the most complex in Mexico.
  4. Federal Highway 2: better known as La Rumorosa, it crosses Baja California and is very careful due to its curves, slopes and crosswinds.
  5. Mexico-Cuernavaca Highway: it contains the most famous curve in Mexico: La Pera, which, in the direction of Cuernavaca, requires extreme care.
